Background

Two communities, brought together.

Charity Learning Leaders brings together two groups that were previously running in parallel: Charity Learning Leaders, previously run solely by the Charity Learning Consortium, and the Third Sector Strategic L&D Network.

Combining them creates one stronger, unified community — more voices, more shared experience, and a single place to find the conversation, rather than two.

Why it exists

The problems this community solves.

Most L&D teams in the charity sector are small — sometimes a team of one. This exists to close the gaps that come with that.

Working in isolation, with no one internally to sense-check ideas against.
A peer network of people facing the same challenges, ready for a quick sanity check or a longer conversation.
Reinventing the wheel — building resources and processes that probably already exist somewhere else.
Shared resources and practical tools other members have already built and tested.
No easy way to benchmark against other charities or see how similar-sized teams handle the same problems.
Best-practice discussions and case studies shared directly by peers across the sector.
Limited time and budget for formal training, conferences or professional development.
A free, informal way to keep learning — regular meet-ups and conversations, no cost or accreditation required.

The community lives primarily on WhatsApp, with monthly email updates for anyone who'd rather not use it.
